Newsletters

Issue 25 of the NAC Newsletter is now available!

In this special edition, Issue 25 of the NAC Newsletter celebrates connection, inclusion and community spirit across New Aged Care.

We begin with the heart-warming story of Cycling Without Age, a wonderful initiative bringing joy to older people and those with limited mobility through volunteer-led rides. This simple act of kindness reminds us all of the value of slowing down, enjoying the fresh air and sharing a moment of conversation and laughter.

Our team also took part in Val’s LGBTI Ageing & Aged Care training, learning how to better support and celebrate the identities, histories and experiences of LGBTI+ clients. It was an inspiring reminder that everyone deserves to feel safe, seen and supported.

You’ll also enjoy reading about Ron’s trip to Dingo, a sunshine-filled adventure in rural Queensland, and gain insight into the upcoming Aged Care Reform and Support at Home program, which will simplify and strengthen in-home care services. We also cover important information about the Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS) and share resources to help protect yourself from online scams.

Finally, meet our newest team members, Wendy and Beth, and explore details of the Seniors Month Webinar Series 2025, a free four-part event celebrating learning and wellbeing for older Victorians.

Issue 22 of the NAC Newsletter is now available!

Issue 22 of the NAC newsletter marks significant farewells, with beloved GP Dr. Alison Bailey retiring after more than 20 years of service in the Macedon Ranges. Though retired, she will continue on a casual basis. Nurse Kerrie also retired, just short of her 10-year anniversary, having been a valued member of the residential and home care teams.

Home Care client Rueben is featured for his unique woodwork talent, discovered by chance over 40 years ago. His beautifully restored wood pieces have been shared with friends, family, and even the NAC office.

This newsletter emphasizes the importance of client feedback. The Client Advisory Group (CAG) encourages all clients to speak up - whether to share concerns or suggestions. NAC also welcomes new members to join the group to help shape care and services.

A reminder that the NAC Afternoon Tea is scheduled for May 14, 2025, offering a chance for community members to connect. The Afternoon Tea will be held at the NAC office: 63 Urquhart Street, Woodend VIC 3442.
